  • Tigers fall to Golden Eagles

The Tigers played hard, but couldn’t keep up with a very good Cornerstone JV, losing 89-61.  The Golden Eagles jumped on the Tigers early and methodically built a 50-26 halftime lead. ” Cornerstone is a very good JV team, they have a lot guys who have been on that team for a few years and do a nice job.” explained a dejected coach Oldebekking after the game. ” We did some good things in this game though, we had 17 offensive rebounds and we kept our turnovers down which is nice.”  ” They got out in transition in the second half and we had a hard time stopping them, but in the second half it was much better.”

The Tigers were led in scoring by Kenny Vernon with 14 points and Eric Zudweg with 11.  Ben Kronemeyer had a nice overall game with 8 points 8 rebounds and 6 assists.  The Tigers are right back at as they travel to Benton Harbor today to take on Lake Michigan College.  The game tips at 7:00pm.
