Last Second Shot Propels Grace Bible over Calvin
The Tigers’ leading scorer Ben Kronemeyer's drive and layup with 4 seconds left was enough for the Tigers to pull out a 73-71 victory at Calvin College. The win puts the Tigers at 4-2 after the Holiday break as they continue to finish close games. "I really think that these guys have kind of found their flow, we are playing quite well right now. The last few games we didn't have great starts but tonight I thought we did. In the first 5 minutes we were the aggressor and were able to build a lead."
GBC was up by as much as 12 in the first half at settled in for a 5 point half time lead.
"I thought Calvin really came up strong in the second half, and gave us trouble with their guard post ups on some of our smaller guards, but we were able to with stand and hit some shots down the stretch," explained Coach Oldebekking.
The Tigers were 5-9 from three in the second half, with most of them coming in the final 8 minutes.
"I am not surprised by that stat, I watch these guys shoot in practice every day and Kenny, Eric, and Ben our some of the best three point shooters out there."
The Tigers end the season on Friday when they take on Olivet College. The game tips at 6:00pm.
