Jenison's Cameron Anderson Signs With Tigers
Grace has added strength to the midfield with Cameron Anderson from Jenison High School. Cameron is the son of Sue and Paul Anderson, and brother to Brooke and Christie Anderson. Filling spots left by graduation, the 6'3 central midfielder will add size and strength to the Tigers. Cameron played high school soccer for Jenison High School, where he solidified the center defensive midfield role for the Wildcats. Playing defensive, Cameron was still able to score six goals during his junior and senior year. He has played club soccer for the West Michigan Fire, Georgetown Rangers, The Crew, and Alliance FC. "Playing a defensive role as Cameron has done, is not always a glamorous one, but extremely important. I think playing the way he does and concern for the entire team success is a testament to his work ethic and who he is with the character he has. He has good size and athletic ability which will serve him well at the next level because he understands how to use it. I look forward to having Cameron and his competitive nature in the squad. He will be a great fit and we are excited to have him as a part of this family", commented Coach Buchanan. Cameron is also an avid leader in his youth group, and works at Wallinwood Springs Golf Course, where he work as a Chef, Clubhouse Manager, and as Cart Attendant.
On his signing with Grace Cameron added, "I am very excited to attend Grace in the fall, I can not wait to see what God has planned for me there. A couple people that have influenced my life are my youth leader Shevi Sloane, he had been supporting me and been pushing me in my life to do my best in life; also Mike Day, he has given me so much great advice on how to get through the situations that are thrown into my life. Seth Thompson who coached me since I was twelve years old whether being on a club team or just messing around in the front yard he had been the big brother I never had. Jake Arntson who I have known since I was four years old, has been my best friend/brother my whole life, he has been such an inspiration to me in my life, always pushing me in school and pushing me in athletics."
