• Grace Sign Belleville Standout Defender Brad Rice

The Tigers have gained a key addition with the signing of defender Brad Rice. Brad is the son of Ron and Tammy Rice, and brother of Ryanne and Brenden. Brad was a stand out athlete at Belleville High School, where he was a four year varsity player. During which he was named to All-Conference Teams, Coaches Award winner, Team MVP, and also captained his team for three years. He played three years of varsity baseball, and was also the kicker for the football team. Brad's excellence on and off the field was shown from an early age, whether it was honor roll, class president in middle school, serving on the youth student board at church, he was involved and wanted to make a difference. He is also a member of the National Honors Society, Marching Band Symphony, and Jazz Band, and named Best personality by his peers in this his senior year. “We are thrilled that we will have Brad here in the fall. From the first time we met him, his personality stood out. He is as positive and outgoing of a person I have met with a passion for life and soccer. He will bring a quality to the team with his ability, pace, and physical play. With the graduation of Chris Thompson, we needed to bring in a player that would be able to strengthen an already quality defense which I believe Brad can do. I think you could put Brad anywhere on the pitch and he would work hard and find success. He has the ability to play centrally, or outside which is important.  With Brad we know we are getting a high character and hard working person and player”, commented Coach Buchanan. On signing, Brad stated “I am very excited about this up coming school year at Grace. I went to several college visits and Grace stood out by far by having the friendliest, God loving people I have met. I hope to be a valuable player here playing the game soccer that I love. I feel like family already by all the kind letters and texts that I receive so often. It is a big decision leaving home for college but my parents and I know I will be well taken care of. I am looking forward to seeing everyone soon and enjoy summer break.”
