Coach Bailey, Allen Durham, and Others Serve at Round Lake Christian CampLakeville, OH | The Grace Bible College basketball program contributes every year at Round Lake Basketball Camp in Lakeville, Ohio, where 6th-8th grade boys learn more about God and the game of basketball. Led by former Kentucky Christian University National Champion and friend of Coach Bailey, Rick Cooper, this camp attracts around 60 campers each year and never disappoints.
To kick off the camp last Tuesday, Coach Bailey, Cory Jamieson (Grace Assistant Athletic Director), and Ryan Krombeen (Grace Tiger Network Broadcast Leader) put on a one-hour basketball clinic, teaching a few principles that the campers could take home with them to continue to work on, on their own.
On Wednesday, a special weekend was auctioned off to bring two campers and their parents up to Grand Rapids, Michigan for the ultimate game experience. This includes a night at a hotel, VIP seats to a Grace basketball game of their choice, complimentary concessions, t-shirts, the official game ball, and a pizza party provided for them.
On Wednesday night, former Tiger All-American and current professional basketball player Allen Durham drove down from the Detroit airport, fresh off of a workout in Dallas, Texas with the Dallas Mavericks. Allen donated some of his game-worn gear, including shoes, warm-ups, and jerseys to auction off at the camp. All money raised went to the Skillz-and-Drillz Basketball Camp in inner-city Lexington, KY, and the Push the Rock sports ministry.
To end the week, Ryan Krombeen was able to win his third championship in a row in the camper 5-on-5 tournament held every year.
Grace Nation continues to grow going into the upcoming season, as the majority of the campers and staff went home with Grace t-shirts, posters, and media guides.
