  • Alpena Speedster Elliott Zarins Signs With Grace

Grace have added some serious pace with the addition of  Elliott Zarins from Alpena, Michigan.  Elliot is the son of Tammy and Robert, and brother to Emry and Kayla.  Elliot is a three year varsity player, showing his versatility by winning MVP both defensively and offensively.  He has also played varsity football, and was a standout in track where he was an All Confrence sprinter, Northern Michigans track and field athlete of the meet award winner, and second fastest 100m, 200m runner in Alpena history. Off the field Elliott also excels in the classroom as an honor roll student.  "Elliott is an explosive player, has tremendous pace, and plays with an edge.  Getting to know him, he will be a player who will not be out worked for a ball, and will bring intensity day in and day out and welcomes competition and challenges.  He is physically ready and has the ability to play in the attack or the defense.  Getting to know Elliott throughout the recruiting process has been wonderful and we are happy to have them as a part of our family."-Coach Buchanan.  Elliott will wear the number twenty-four shirt for the Tigers.  Assistant Coach Josh Herlein has worked close with the Zarins and stated "Elliott is a tough competitor who will go all out and wants to come out on top badly. I have really enjoyed getting to know them.  His mentality is to make an impact on each play.  His mother Tammy is thrilled for Elliott and this opportunity.  Elliott chose to get a great Christian education.  We are also very happy to add Elliott, Tammy and his entire family to the GBC family"
