Trent was one of the early local talented recruits of Jimmy Moore. A graduate of Hudsonville High School he excelled in basketball. Trent’s teams won back to back NCCAA II-A national championships in 1994 & 1995. The ’95 team was the first team in history to win 20 games. As Captain of those teams Trent’s court leadership was more than just statistical. Always being counted upon to be the stable one on the floor, his game and court awareness earned him team MVP honore twice.
Voted to the NCCAA II All Region Team two times, Trent also garnered All-American honors in 1995. The Frank Vanderlaan Award for the outstanding athlete at GBC was given to Trent in 1996.
Trent is also a member of the 1,000 point club and ranks 12th on the all time scoring list with 1,104. He also holds the aal time record for free throws made in a season with 162.
Trent is married to Mandi and they have three children and remain active in their local church ministry. Trent was excited to learn the guitar and now is the worship leader in his church.
