In 2003 Rich came to Grace to help turn around its sports program.  He took over as the women's basketball head coach in 2003.  It didn't take him long to get that program going as he is now the all-time winningest women's basketball coach in Grace history with 150 wins.  In 2007-08 his team broke the season record of 20 (set by his team in 2005-06) by winning 28 games.  He took his team to the NCCAA final four in 2008 and if it was not for a late injury in the semi's, Grace may have played for its first Women's national championship.  He has coached 8 NCCAA All Americans, 31 players named All-Region, and 5 players were named to the Academic All American teams.  He has been named the NCCAA Midwest Region Coach of the year twice and was named the ACCA National Coach of the Year in 2006 and the NCCAA National Coach of the Year in 2008.  At the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan's annual banquet in 2012, Coach Renzema received a plaque for hitting the 600 career win mark in his Michigan high school and collegiate coaching career.  He has been coaching in West Michigan for 44 years total.  Rich has been married to his wife Kathy for 46 years, and they have four children and six grandchildren.
