Rich Renzema
Head Coach

Coach Renzema begins his 46th year of coaching basketball in the Grand Rapids area, and his 11th at Grace Bible College. He was the Michigan Class B coach of the in 2001 when he lead the Coopersville Men’s team to a 26 and 2 record and a state finals appearance. He was also the ACCA National Coach of the year in 2006 and the NCCAA National coach of the year in 2008 while leading the team to a school record 28 wins. He started his career at Caledonia High School and then to Wyoming Park High School prior to moving to Coopersville High School.

Coach Renzema was honored by the Michigan High School Coaches Association for winning over 600 varsity basketball games. Basketball is not the only sport he has coached in high School. Some of the other sports he has coached are Cross-Country, Golf and Track. At Coopersville he lead the Women’s track team to the 2003 Team state championship which topped off seven years of going undefeated.

He has been married for 46 years to his wife Kathie, who travels with the team and serves as the teams activity director. They have four children and six grandchildren. Some of his best memories are coaching his four children in basketball and track.

Fred Kosten 
Assistant Coach

Fred will be starting his 5th year as assistant coach for the Lady Tigers. He has coached over 40 seasons of basketball at Coopersville High School including all 3 levels of girls and all 3 levels of boys.  This included 12 years as the head girls coach and 2 seasons as the head boys coach.  Fred also coached 7 years of varsity baseball at Coopersville.  Coach Kosten has been working with Coach Renzema for over 30 years at Coopersville and Grace, so he is very familiar with the system.

A graduate of Western Michigan University, Fred was an industrial arts teacher for over 30 years at Coopersville.  Since retiring in 2003, Fred has enjoyed woodworking and making furniture for his family.

Fred has been married to wife Joyce for over 40 years.  They are the parents of three children and four grandchildren.
