Head JV Coach
David Oldebekking will start his 5th year as an Assistant Coach at Grace and will serve as the Head Coach of the JV team. David is a graduate of Hamilton High School and Western Michigan University. He is currently working on his Master’s Degree at WMU. David is employed by Creative Technologies Academy in Cedar Springs, MI as the Dean of Students. David coached the Chargers of CTA for two seasons before coming to Grace.
“I am really looking forward to getting into the gym again this year and working with the guys to not only make them better basketball players, but also better men. It is an honor having the opportunity to work with the great coaches at GBC and at a great school like Grace. I am looking forward to this year after gaining some great experience last year.”
Dave is married to Alicia Oldebekking. The couple has a son, Mason and a daughter, Harper. The couple resides in Hudsonville, MI.
Assistant JV Coach
Cody Cooper will begin his second season at Grace as the JV Assistant Coach. Cody is a graduate of Hamilton High School where he was a 3-sport athlete. Cody has spent the last 13 years involved in the Holland Recreational Sports program, and the last 3 years actively coaching youth sports. He is currently employed by Evoqua Water Technologies in Zeeland. Cody is married to Kaycie Cooper, (10 years), and has four children; Londin, Brooklin, Kashden and Josephine. The Coopers reside in Holland.
“Sports have been such a big part of my life, and to be part of this program is a dream come true. When the last season ended, I found myself already thinking about and planning for the start of the next season. I look forward to learning so many things from the coaching staff and players here at Grace, and am hoping to leave a positive impact on all student athletes.”
Brad is a student member of ACSM and NSCA, and he holds a CPR certification through the American Heart Association. He is currently studying for Performance Enhancement Specialist Certification through NASM. Brad is a former intern with Barwis Methods Strength and Conditioning, and is now co-owner of Titan Training Systems LLC. He has experience training many different levels, all the way up to professionals, as he assisted in training the Grand Rapids Griffins hockey team in the summer of 2014.
He will be the head strength and conditioning coach for all 7 athletic programs here at Grace.
