    Balanced Scoring Gives Tigers Win #13

    The Tigers used a balanced scoring attack again to defeat Andrews University 65-20. Three players had 14 points, Hannah Wight, Anna Iwaniw and Megan Scholtens followed by Abby Schultz with 10, Kitty Yanik 6, Debbie Pekel 4 and Emily Koerner 3.     Junior forward Anna Iwaniw was named the NCCAA Player of the Week for her performances last weekend in wins against Kuyper College and Mount Mary University. Full Article >

    Tigers Win On The Road

    The Tigers continued their hot shooting with a 74-61 win at Mount Mary University. The ladies hit 14 threes in a hard fought battle in Milwaukee Saturday night. Anna Iwaniw lead the way hitting 4 of 5 from behind the arc and finishing the game with 23 points and 15 rebounds. The Tigers were a little short handed as they played without starting center Emily Koerner, who stayed home with the flu. Kitty Yanik picked up the slack with 6 points and 7 rebounds. The score at half time was 44-28 but the ladies never quit and several times cut the score 6 points. The Tigers had to play the last 28 seconds with only 4 players because of foul trouble.     Abby Schultz Leads Tigers To CrossCup Victory

    The Tigers, behind Abby's Schultz hot outside shooting, defeated Kuyper College in the annual Cross Cup Game 91 to 43. Abby was 6 for 7 from the three point line and ended the game with 24 points. The ladies slowly increased the lead the first half and lead at half time 41 to 19. The Tigers continued to build the lead in the second half with some fine outside shooting. Both teams shot well from the Free Throw line with Kuyper hitting 9 of 11 and the Tigers hitting 15 of 17.     Scholtens earns NCCAA Player of the Week honors!

    Megan Scholtens, a sophomore guard from Grant, MI, shot 9-11 from the field, and 5-7 from beyond the arc in a huge regional win over last year's NCCAA DII National Champions, Maranatha Baptist University. She finished the 86-70 victory with 23 points on her efficient shooting, and also contributed 5 assists. Full Article >

    Tigers Lose In Shoot Out

    In a game that saw 52 three point shots the Tigers lost 82 to 72. The ladies went into half time with a 6 point lead 43-37 having only 3 turnovers in the half. The long lay off during Christmas break took it's toll as the Tigers tired and committed some uncharacteristic turnovers. In a 3 minute span the ladies fell behind by 10 and were never able to come back. Full Article >

    Speed Hurts Tigers

    In a back and forth game with 11 ties and 11 lead changes turn overs were the difference. The Tigers had 21 compared to Marygroves 9. Half time saw the Ladies up by 2, 33-31. It stayed tight in the second half until midway through the period when Marygrove hit several 3's and took a small lead. The Tigers were unable to come back and loss 75 to 65. Full Article >

    Davenport Out Guns Tigers

    The Tigers shot 40% from the floor, 53% from the three point line and 88% from the free throw line. Most nights that would be enough for the win but not tonight. The ladies were out rebounded 46 to 28 and had 18 more turn overs than the much taller Davenport University. There is a reason they are ranked number 2 in the nation in NAIA stated Coach Renzema.     Balanced Scoring Leads to Tiger Victory

    The Tigers came out smoking against last years National Champions, hitting 55% from the floor and out rebounding them 22 to 13. It was a well balanced attack with 6 Tigers in double figures. Megan Scholtens started the ladies attack with 2 quick 3's and ending up with 14 points in the first half. The ladies moved the ball well ending the night with 19 assists. Full Article >
